Description¶
A new user cannot be successfully created if a required field in the user creation form was initially left empty and later filled in during a subsequent submission. After correcting the missing information, the system incorrectly returns a "User already exists" error, preventing completion of the user creation process.
Preconditions:¶
New user creation is allowed
Steps to reproduce:¶
- Navigate to the user form.
- Fill in the user form fields like Username, First Name, Last Name, Age, Address, Phone etc.
- Leave one field of the user form empty ex. address.
- Click on the 'save' button.
- Observe that a 'missing some required information' message is displayed.
- Enter valid data for the field that was left empty in step 3.
- Click on the 'save' button again.
- Observe that a 'User already exists' message is displayed.
Expected results¶
A user should be created successfully after correcting the missing field.
Actual results¶
The user is not created and a duplicate user error message is displayed.
Notes¶
This issue suggests that a user record may have been partially or prematurely created during the first (invalid) submission.
